Private Acts of 2016 Chapter 38

SECTION 1. Pursuant to the authority of counties to impose and collect a solid waste disposal fee in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 68, Chapter 211, Part 8, the solid waste disposal fee assessed for the receipt of solid waste disposal services in Hardeman County may be collected annually with the county property tax. Any solid waste disposal fee collected in accordance with this act shall be described and appear separately from the county property tax on the tax notice.

SECTION 2. This act shall have no effect unless it is approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the legislative body of Hardeman County. Its approval or nonapproval shall be proclaimed by the presiding officer of the legislative body and certified to the secretary of state.

SECTION 3. For the purpose of approving or rejecting the provisions of this act, it shall be effective upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it. For all other purposes, it shall become effective as provided in Section 2.
