Private Acts of 1967 - 68 Chapter 273

SECTION 1.  Hamilton County, Tennessee, is hereby authorized to pass regulations regulating air and water pollution.  Such regulations shall provide reasonable standards.

SECTION 2.  Hamilton County is hereby authorized to enter into any agreements with the chief legislative body of any one (1) or more municipalities that lies within the boundaries of the county as may be desirable or necessary for the purpose of permitting the county and such municipality to either jointly or by one (1) agency regulate air and water pollution, under such terms as may be agreed upon by the county and such municipality.

SECTION 3.  Anyone who is found guilty of violating any reasonable regulation passed by the Hamilton County Council shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished accordingly and each day shall be a separate violation.

SECTION 4.  This Act shall have no effect unless it is approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Hamilton County Council before July 1, 1967.  Its approval or non-approval shall be proclaimed by the presiding officer of the Hamilton County Council and certified by him to the Secretary of State.

SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
