Sheriff

The following acts have no current effect but are included here for reference purposes
since they once applied to the Union County Sheriff's Office. Also referenced below are acts
which repeal prior law without providing new substantive provisions.

  1. Private Acts of 1925, Chapter 7, provides that the sheriff of Union County be paid $300 a
year in addition to all the fees of his office, to be paid out of the county treasury on the warrant
of the county judge or chairman.
  2. Private Acts of 1939, Chapter 253, set up a salary for the sheriff of Union County of $50
per month which was to be in addition to all the fees of his office and be payable monthly out of
the general funds of the county. This act was amended by Private Acts of 1945, Chapter 499,
which increased the monthly salary of the sheriff from $50 to $100.
