In early July, County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) partnered with the Comptroller’s Office Division of Property Assessments (DPA) and the Tennessee Chapter of IAAO (TIAAO) to offer a two-day, 15-hour course centered on using specific cost manuals and software from CoreLogic to value commercial property.
Over 50 participants from across the state joined staff from DPA and CTAS in the first-of-its-kind course ever offered in Tennessee. CoreLogic’s Ed Martinez provided in-depth instruction on using the software and cost manuals as well as how to interpret results if presenting the information during an appeal. Martinez has been with CoreLogic since 1993 (when it was under the Marshall/Swift name).
Each participant received 15 hours of continuing education for attending. CTAS, DPA, and TIAAO hope to offer similar courses in the future, so keep your eyes open for possible upcoming opportunities.
