The Census Bureau’s population estimates are used in federal funding allocations, as survey controls, as denominators for economic indicators and vital rates. The annual data for states, counties and cities helps explain how the age and race demographics are changing. In this session, we’ll learn how the estimates are produced and how the state’s data on births, deaths and local building activity - are used in estimate releases.
