Local Government Support Grants – Application Now Open

News Date

Governor Bill Lee recently established the Local Government Support Grants program in cooperation with the Tennessee General Assembly. This program is in direct response to the needs of local governments and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications available HERE.

Important Information:

The Local Government Support Grant Program is for one-time funding to be used on one-time expenses (new construction is not permitted). Funds from these grants will apply only to a city or county government and are not eligible to be passed through to other entities.

Funding for this grant program will be based on published US Census Bureau population data as of July 1, 2018. No county will receive less than $500,000. No city or municipality will receive less than $30,000. The three metro governments (Davidson, Moore, and Trousdale counties) will receive one allocation, whichever is largest.

There are six (6) permissible spending categories: IT hardware upgrades; capital maintenance*; utility system upgrades; road projects*; public safety*; and COVID-19 response. (*these categories could include tornado relief projects in affected counties).
