Comptroller's Office Suspends Continuing Education Requirements
The Tennessee Comptroller's Office has decided to suspend continuing education requirements for Certified County Finance Officers (CCFO) and Certified Municipal Finance Officers (CMFO). According to the guidelines of the CCFO and CMFO programs, certified individuals must receive 16 or 24 hours (respectively) of continuing education every year to maintain their certification.
The Comptroller's Office has suspended these requirements for the reporting year 2020, which ends December 31, 2020. CCFO and CMFO certificate holders are encouraged to voluntarily complete continuing education during 2020. The Comptroller’s Office plans to offer 16 hours of virtual continuing education in the fall of 2020 which will be provided at no cost. Information about the Comptroller’s sponsored continuing education will be provided when available.
